Why people in the United States looks at me when I wear my baseball cap from Canada?

Now I live in the U.S. and often with a cap of baseball baseball with the Canadian flag. Everyone in my gym look at me when I wear this, and if not, are given little attention. What is the treatment? Born and raised in Canada, I love my country. Is it really true that they hate us here?

If there is any hatred, is especially Canadians against the Americans (my experience and reading the news from time to time), and even that is not as often as is led to believe. Personally, I think we have more in common that we have no animosity different and begins with the elitist and extremist parties. It becomes "I heard blah, blah, blah about the Americans / Canadians. On a personal level, is a pile of garbage. Although I'm sure you get some interesting looks when I put my hockey jersey of the United States to Canada. It's just a novelty for most people watching. Few people in the U.S. continues to baseball in Canada. What I find funny is that many Americans seem think that if you wear an American flag in any form (PIN, a hat, patch, etc.) that are as nuts crazy right hyper patriot. They seem almost ashamed show all proud to be American. A little sad when you think about it.
